The country is not seen as a great test market for these products

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its first Tizen-based smartphones at the MWC 2014 show in Barcelona next week, but won’t release them in the United States, it seems.

According to FierceWireless, Ryan Bidan, Samsung's director of product marketing for its U.S. mobile operations, has confirmed that Samsung doesn’t believe that the US market is fit for testing the penetration of the Tizen-based handsets.

The first such devices from Samsung are expected to become available for purchase before the end of March, with Japan being almost certain to receive them, given that NTT DoCoMo is part of the Tizen Association.

Tizen is expected to prove Samsung’s successful alternative for the Android OS, yet it remains to be seen how successful it could become, especially since it has been delayed for about a year now.
