Then again, some may say the tag is even higher than what was likely

The 4K resolution, 3840 x 2160, has turned into what 3D was for the years 2011 and 2012: a new trend that brought some life to the TV industry, albeit no improvement in sales due to its being, basically, a luxury.

Samsung is just one of a bunch of companies with 4K displays up for sale or on the way.

Right now, the S9 is the big star of Samsung's 4K UHD marketing activities.

Measuring 85 inches in diagonal, it has an easel-like stand, as we have noted previously.

Now we know what the price of the super-high-end TV is going to be when sales finally start, in the US, by the end of the month (March 2013): $39,999. That's between 30,899 and 39,999 Euro.

The price is in line with European and South Korean levels, although that isn't that much of a consolation.
