Samsung has tons of new phones in the pipeline

In late 2014 Samsung was heard saying that it was looking to downsize its impressive smartphone portfolio with 25% to 30% models in 2015.

That being said, the Korean tech giant was expected to start cutting models from its hard-to-get-excited and meh low-to-mid range categories, but it’s now becoming apparent that old habits tend to die hard.

A few months back Samsung was said to be discontinuing its first smartphone coming with a metal frame, the Galaxy Alpha and focus more on affordability than anything else.

Samsung drops one phone, but pushes out many others

One smartphone was down, but Samsung quickly jumped back and introduced the all-new A-series all-clad in metal, which includes the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7.

Not long afterwards, the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 went official too, as cheaper alternatives to the A series.

But that was not all, we also heard talk of the Galaxy J1, which is a low-end 64-bit smartphone which leaked in pictures a few weeks ago.

The handset is obviously aimed at the lower market and comes with mediocre specifications which will certainly not get a lot of folks excited. Even so, it will probably arrive with quite an affordable price-tag.

Well, recent information obtained by Galaxy Club shows us that Samsung is probably looking to make a complete series coming out under the “J” banner.

The company filled patent applications for three new phones in the J family, including the Galaxy J3, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7.

Last but not least, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7, two handsets with mid-range specs, but now it has become apparent that Samsung will also introduce the E3 model, thus completing the series.

We’re still not done with the first month of 2015 and Samsung is already sprouting out handsets everywhere, so can we call this another switch in strategy? If Samsung continues launching devices at this rate, it might end up introducing 30% more models, not 30% less.
