Samsung Electronics is one of the first handset vendors in the world to bring to the market devices powered by Microsoft's new Windows Phone Mango operating system version, and the Samsung Omnia W is the company's first such smartphone to become available for pre-order.

The new device was made official only a few days ago, Microsoft brought it again to the spotlight when announcing the deployment of Mango, and expansys.it has already listed it on its website as available for pre-order, with a price tag of €384.99 (around $525) attached to it.

The retailer does not offer a specific release date for the new device, but some of the previous rumors on it suggested that it could arrive on shelves starting with the next month.

The Samsung Omnia W packs a 3.7 WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 1.4 GHz application processor, and 512MB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory.

“Featuring an elegant design, a vivid Super AMOLED display as well as an enriched content and social communication experience enabled by People Hub, the Omnia W is a different kind of phone that puts people at the center of everything,” the online retailer notes.

The new mobile phone also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, auto focus and 720p HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a VGA fixed focus camera on the front.

It also features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, along with 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and micro-USB, and internal GPS antenna. Samsung also packed it with Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Proximity, Magnetometer, and Gyroscope.

“A powerful 1.4GHz processor delivers seamless performance, allowing a fast and hassle-free user experience,” the retailer continues.

“This is further enhanced by the device's integrated 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity, enabling high-speed data browsing and ensuring that videos and pictures can be instantly shared with friends and family.”
