Samsung appears to be preparing a brand new S Pen, most probably set to make an official debut alongside the company’s next high-end large handset, the Galaxy Note 4, and some more info on what it will have to offer is now available.

As Patent Bolt has found out, Samsung might be including phone calling capabilities inside the next S Pen, at least this is what a recent digital pen patent application from Samsung reveals.

Spotted over at USPTO, it unveils that the South Korean handset vendor is planning to include a microphone and a speaker inside the pen, along with a transmitting/receiving (T/R) module, which would, potentially, allow users to make phone calls.

At the same time, as GSMArena notes, the S Pen would be able to accept S Voice and Google Now commands.

No official confirmation on the matter has been provided, but chances are that making calls on large smartphones from Samsung will become easier in the not too distant future.
