South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has made available for download a new flavor of the popular Group Play application, one that features version 3.0 at the moment.

The software was released on Samsung devices last year on the Galaxy S4, providing users with the possibility to easily pair multiple devices and share various content between them.

The app worked with pictures, documents, and music, and enabled users to share them between said devices in real time, as SamMobile notes.

The new version 3.0 of the Group Play application arrives on devices with an updated user interface, which should remind many of the looks that other Samsung apps such as S Health and others have adopted lately.

In addition to that, the new application iteration brings along a brand new option on Samsung Galaxy S5 handsets out there, namely Group Camcorder.

Apparently, the feature was designed so as to allow people to pair 4 devices and to capture videos from each of these handsets’ cameras. Moreover, the host device will be capable of editing and merging the best shot sequences.

What this does is to incorporate the camera output from all of the connected devices, thus offering a much better, unique video recording experience.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship handset that started landing on shelves late last week came with Group Camcorder packed inside out of the box.

However, users interested in taking advantage of its capabilities will need to upgrade Group Play to the new version 3.0, it seems.

For the time being, the feature appears to remain exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S5 handsets out there, with phones such as Galaxy Note 3 and others lacking support for it for the time being.

However, chances are that Samsung will make it available for older handsets in its lineup as well, so that more of its users could take advantage of it.

The new flavor of the Group Play mobile application should already be available for download through the Google Play store and via Samsung’s own application portal.

However, should some of you see it with the older version attached to it, you can also find the APK file available for download separately, SamMobile notes.

The APK for Galaxy S5’s Group Camcorder feature is available online as well, though it might not do you any good, since it works only on the new flagship handset, which already has it out of the box.
