They appear to be too expensive considering their capabilities

Over the past couple of days, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has made official a handful of new Android-based smartphones, and some more info on the price tags that they might feature when made available has emerged online.

The company has not provided details on how much these phones will cost when released, but the guys over at SamMobile claim to have solved this mystery, and have already published info on the matter.

According to them, Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, the smaller, downgraded version of the Galaxy S5 flagship, will arrive on the market with a price tag of around €479 ($650) attached to it.

Chances are that the phone will actually cost less when brought to the market, yet an official confirmation on this has yet to emerge, along with specifics on the phone’s availability around the world.

Featuring a 4.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor inside, and 1.5GB of RAM, along with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, the Galaxy S5 mini might seem a bit too expensive (at this price) for a mid-range smartphone, that’s for sure.

Unfortunately, the rest of the newly unveiled Samsung smartphones share a similar fate, as they are rumored to feature price tags a bit too high when compared to the capabilities they have to offer at the moment.

According to said news site, Galaxy Ace 4 will arrive on the market at €219 ($299), the Galaxy Core II will be priced at €179 ($245), while the Galaxy Young 2 will cost €99 ($135). Apparently, these are the suggested retail prices that Samsung Netherlands has unveiled for the three.

On Monday, Samsung also announced a successor to the Galaxy Star, in the form of Galaxy Star 2, but info on how much users will have to pay for it hasn’t emerged as of now. However, it might land on shelves for less than €100 ($136), it seems.

Most probably, Samsung will make all of these handsets available for purchase at less than what’s mentioned above, otherwise it might risk seeing low traction for them on all markets.

The mobile phone maker has yet to offer some info on when users will be able to grab any of these mobile phones, yet rumor has it that it will push them out in the coming weeks. Hopefully, additional details on the matter will emerge in the near future, so keep an eye on this space to learn the news.
