This is a new, GSM-only version of Samsung’s Galaxy Ace Duos smartphone, which was made available for purchase with support for CDMA networks.

The handset arrives on shelves with Smart Dual SIM functionality, which enables users to switch between SIM cards while on the go, and which also enables them to transfer calls from SIM2 to SIM1.

The smartphone was made official roughly a month ago, with Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, and with Samsung’s own TouchWiz interface loaded on top of it.

Moreover, the new device arrives on shelves with a series of applications from the handset vendor, including ChatON, My Movies, My Music and Handy.

The specifications list of this device shows a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display capable of delivering a HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution, as well as an 832MHz application processor inside, complemented by 512MB of RAM.

Moreover, the smartphone packs 3GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of external storage space.

On the back, Samsung’s Galaxy Ace Duos features a 5-megapixel photo snapper, with support for video recording.

Other hardware specs of this device include support for HSDPA 7.2Mbps connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, and a 1300mAh battery.

The GSM-enabled Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos was announced for India with a price tag of Rs. 15,090 ($270 / €214) attached to it. However, users can already find it on eBay India for Rs. 12,900 ($232 / €184), SammyHub reports.

India is only one of the countries that Samsung is targeting with this smartphone. It is also planned for launch in markets in Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa, and China.
