
Samsung Electronics has just launched a new ultra-slim, lightweight flash-memory player - the YP-Z5 Music Jukebox, which features a with 3-D sound capability, benefits from a music subscription services such as MTV's Urge, Napster, Rhapsody and Yahoo, and features a long-lasting rechargeable battery for up to 35 hours.
Weighing just over two ounces and sporting an ultra-slim design, the YP-Z5 fits into anyone's pocket or handbag and boasts a durable aluminum cover to prevent scratches and stains.
"The YP-Z5 displays Samsung's commitment to expanding the market possibilities in the super-competitive portable digital audio space," said Matt Durgin, senior marketing manager, Digital Media Products, Samsung Electronics America. "Consumers are choosing digital music subscription services and Samsung supports this trend with its first 4GB flash player to offer subscription capabilities. With a 1.8" quality LCD screen, a slim, durable body and extended battery life, the YP-Z5 stands above the competition."
The 1.8" color TFT-LCD screen is one of the largest in its class and enables users to view photographs and album art, as the customers can also create slideshows with dynamic effects, as well as pan and zoom in on digital photos. The player benefits from an innovative touch pad interface, which makes navigating functions a piece of cake, as users can customize the interface background with any JPEG.
Samsung's proprietary DNSe Portable 3-D Sound Technology offers a great sound, and the close to 35-hour rechargeable battery life provides an enhanced round-the-clock music, exceeding other high-capacity flash devices.
The YP-Z5 is Microsoft PlaysForSure-enabled and supports MP3, WMA, WMA DRM10 and JPEG formats.
The Samsung's YP-Z5 comes in silver, pink and black colors and is currently available at $149 - 1GB, $199 - 2GB, and $249 for the 4GB.
