Samsung Electronics presents two new 3D gaming console/phone models which also include vibration functions similar to dedicated controllers. The SPH-G1000 and SCH-G100 offer realistic images and an extremely "clean" sound, and the vibration produced by the console adds to a complete gaming experience. For example, when playing a car racing game, the phone will vibrate when the car leaves the track, runs over bumps or enters zones with gravel.
Samsung included these models with
a graphic accelerator capable of calculating 1 million polygons per second, improving in this way the dynamicity and realism of game's images. The 3D accelerator includes a function that mixes the graphic elements, displaying in this way both 3D and 2D images. In this way, the game's background is displayed as a 2D image, and the dynamic elements (persons, objects, forces, etc) are displayed as 3D images.
The phone is fitted with a multi directional (8-way) controller that completes the set of classic buttons. The user can make the character he plays with to jump or fire the weapon in the same time he changes the moving directions.
If the features presented above have not impressed you, maybe the stereo speaker system or the 2.2 inch and 262,000 colors display will. Another, already standard feature, is the 1.3 megapixels digital camera which is automatically activated when the protective cover of the lens is removed.
The dimensions of this device are 113 mm x 55 mm x 24 mm, and the surface of the display is 24 mm x 32 mm which is pretty generous for a cell phone. The phone weighs 148 grams, and the memory can be supplemented through an external RS MMC card. The phone will be available in Korea starting with next week.
