Leaked specs reveal an excellent handset

Samsung prepares to roll out what looks to be the next sensation for the global mobile market, the Samsung i900 touchscreen phone. Recently leaked specifications reveal that the future handset has all the chances to outperform any other mobile phone on the market today.

Samsung i900 comes in a stylish 112 ? 56 x 12.5 mm case with no keypad and it's a quad-band GSM / UMTS device with a HSDPA connectivity that provides up to 7.2 Mbps download speeds. In terms of technical details, the phone seems to be an evolved Samsung F700 (not that the F700 is "unevolved"), and it will bring a gorgeous 3.5 inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 pixels resolution, a 5.0 Megapixel camera and, apparently, 8GB of internal memory.

But the list doesn't stop here, as we also have built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, video streaming support, FM Radio, RSS Reader and JAVA MIDP 2.0. Furthermore, it's said the i900 is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and has a gesture control User Interface.

These leaked specifications make us think that Samsung i900 is by far better than Apple's iPhone (since every new handset is inevitably compared to it). Of course, this is just an assumption, so iPhone fans must not throw tomatoes at me. Everyone knows that what you read on paper or on the LCD/CRT display is one thing and what you get in reality, when functionality and ease of use are crucial, is another thing. But Samsung never really disappointed users when it comes to functionality, so the i900 could indeed be the next mobile marvel.

Hopefully, i900 will be presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, between 11th and 14th February, when we'll get the chance to see real pics with it and find out if the leaked details correspond to reality or if the phone is just a prototype.
