A new solution for those who need a reliable smartphone for handling both their work and personal life has been officially unveiled. Samsung i780 received the red carpet in London, along with several other evolved handsets.

What should earn Samsung i780 some extra points in terms of functionality, when compared to many other smartphones that are available at this time, is the QWERTY keypad. Many handsets have already given it up for virtual keypads used on the touchscreen that leaves no room for real old fashioned buttons.

Its dimensions of 115.9 x 61.3 x 13.3 mm might feel rather large for some people. Still, the handset proves to be quite slim, which gives it an elegant touch. Samsung i780 runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional, which earns it a place among the most evolved such devices out there.

The touchscreen supports a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, great for watching videos and editing large amounts of text. Connectivity is also available through Bluetooth and USB. Moreover, it also adds EDGE and GPRS, although the HSDPA capability is the most important, as it can bring data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps.

Another important feature about this smartphone is that it can also bring A-GPS navigation and make sure that its owner is always on the right track. Even more, it also supports more evolved communication solutions, such as email and instant messaging. Moreover, it also comes with a HTML web browser and WiFi connectivity.

The exact date when Samsung i780 will start shipping has not been revealed yet. High stakes are that this will happen this December, to make the best of the holidays season. The price is also unknown at this time, although it should be available when the producer will separately announce the phone's release on the market.
