A while ago, word in the industry had it that AT&T was preparing a Samsung trio for this fall/winter. Apparently, the devices that will make the trio are Samsung a867, Samsung Sangria, and Samsung Mirage.

On this note, it clearly seems that, this season, Samsung is keeping the largest operator in the US quite busy, since AT&T is currently offering the weird looking a637 “Milky,” the Omnia, Blackjack III and everything else there is in between these three. Rumors also have it that Samsung Propel too is going to join the AT&T family soon.

Now, it seems that Samsung a867 finally got its elusive self snapped in some photos. Bearing a clear resemblance to Samsung Omnia, the device offers users a large 3.2-inch touchscreen. However, it seems the similarities between the two are not that many, since the a867, apparently named Eternity, is said to have closer ties with the F480 than with Omnia, thus dropping Windows Mobile in the favor of Samsung's own setup.

Samsung a867 also comes with MediaFlo support – without the need of an external antenna, an integrated 3 megapixel camera, AGPS, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack, while it will also be able to support the new 16GB microSD card. All clues point to this device being a pretty decent media player after all, which would make it a really good competitor for LG Vu. The price for Samsung a867 is expected to be set at about $150 with a contract, while an estimated availability date is scheduled for sometime next month.

Everything points to Samsung a867 turning out to be the kind of mobile phone that packs lots of goodies while also coming at an affordable price, even if we’re talking about one with a subscription. Furthermore, if the device is indeed released next month as expected, it should make a nice holiday gift for all those touchscreen phones fans out there.
