It might be the LTE version of Samsung Z1

Samsung is very proud of its Tizen OS since the first smartphone commercially available on the market, the Z1 has been very popular in some emerging markets.

Although the South Korean company didn't sell a huge number of Z1 devices in these countries, Samsung claims the demand was higher than it initially expected.

This clearly means that the handset maker will launch at least one more Tizen-powered smartphone in the next couple of months.

Word about a possible sequel to Z1, as well as some pictures of the alleged Samsung Z2, popped up weeks ago. Still, we still don't know when exactly the phone will be launched and how much it will cost.

No word on price and availability yet

The good news is we have just learned that Samsung might launch not one, but two Tizen smartphones soon. The second smartphone is dubbed “Samsung Z LTE” and might be the LTE-enabled version of the Z1, TizenExperts report.

A picture of the alleged Samsung Z LTE leaked online directly from South Korea, but no specs are attached to it, so there's no telling if there are any other differences between the two smartphones apart from LTE support.

We do know for sure that the device in the picture is not the Samsung Z2 because it lacks the additional Proximity / Light / Gesture sensors that are present in the Z1 sequel.

The first Tizen OS smartphone, Samsung Z1 has a small 4-inch PLS display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The handset also packs a 3-megapixel camera on the back, which features LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera in the front.

Samsung Z1 offers dual-SIM support and comes equipped with a modest 1.2GHz dual-core Spreadtrum SC7727S processor, a Mali-400 graphics processing unit and 768MB of RAM.

The smartphone packs only 4GB of internal memory, but it features microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB). It's powered by a 1,500 mAh battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.
