X830 is a new music phone from Samsung. The handset is the GSM version of the Korean version SPH-S4300 shown this year at CeBit.
The slider phone has the form of a chocolate bar and measures 85 x 29 x 20 mm, while weighing 74 grams. Because of the long and narrow body, the numeric keys are placed two per row. A rotating disk at the lower part of the device is used for navigation purposes when the phone is closed.
The TFT display has a size of 32 x 19 mm and can
display a resolution of 128 x 220 pixels.
The entertainment part of the phone offers users the possibility to take pictures with the 1.3 megapixel
camera or listen to music using the built-in audio player. The player supports OGG, WMV and MP3 files (MP3s can be used as ringtones) and has a 5-band equalizer for adjusting the sound quality.
Connectivity features include
Bluetooth support for wireless transfer and an USB 2.0 port for connecting the phone to the PC. It is not certain yet if the phone will have the same 1 GB memory as the Korean version.
The X830 will be officially released in autumn 2006. Details about pricing are yet unknown.
