Samsung is trying really hard to make Samsung Pay useful

The most recent set of rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy S6 just leaked into the wild, and in the list we found an interesting mention to Samsung Pay.

This is a service Samsung has been setting up as a way to compete with Apple Pay, and the Korean tech giant seems to be getting ready to debut it with its latest flagship.

Samsung Pay will support VISA cards

A new report coming out of Sam Mobile reveals that Sammy has taken up a partnership with VISA and McAfee to boost the relevance of its service. The latter software will keep the service clean of any spyware, spam and viruses.

This means that any VISA card could be compatible with Samsung Pay. After all, we were told earlier that the service would work with up to 90% of existing magnetic stripe payment terminals and NFC payment terminals.

In the past, Samsung collaborated with PayPal, allowing users of the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha or Galaxy S5 to authorize payments via the fingerprint sensor embedded in these models.

Word on the street has it Samsung will be implementing a touch-based fingerprint sensor in its upcoming flagship, as opposed to the swipe-based one we saw in earlier models.

This should make Samsung Pay easy to use, especially if the collaboration with VISA turns out to be something real.

Samsung Pay coming to the Galaxy S6

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to be quite the game changer. The handset should arrive with a metal/glass design, a new, re-designed, less cluttered TouchWiz interface and powerful specifications.

There are some caveats, like with every major phone announcement. For example, Samsung is looking to cut some costs, so the Galaxy S6 won’t arrive outfitted with water-resistant capabilities, which is quite disappointing.

On the other hand, Samsung is also anticipated to roll out a variant of the Galaxy S6 which takes advantage of a double-edged display.
