Samsung has announced a new 8 GB phone to be presented at the CeBIT 2006 convention.

The SGH-i310 is the follower of the 4 GB SGH-i300x music phone, borrowing the size and weight of its predecessor. It will come equipped with a 2 inch display,
capable of a 240 x 320 pixel resolution in 65k colors.

The handset gives a great deal of importance to music, being able to play MP3, WMA and AAC formats. The audio output is enhanced by using a three-dimensional acoustic technique. Bluetooth will enable the use of wireless stereo headsets and USB 2.0 will let users store or get music files from the PC. The mobile's operating system is Windows Mobile 5.0.

Additional features include a 2 megapixel camera with flashback, capable of video recording, TV output, dual speakers with digital amplification, and memory expansion via microSD cards.

The SGH-i310 is expected to be available in Europe in the second half of 2006.
