GeoSentric, a Dutch company specialized in geo-mobility social networking platforms and digital lifestyle applications, announced that it has sealed a multi-year agreement with Samsung, the world's second-largest handset manufacturer, in order to embed GyPSii technologies into its handsets.

Starting with Samsung Omnia and Samsung SGH-i780, the GyPSii digital lifestyle application will be pre-installed in select Samsung devices, allowing consumers to create and share, with ease, user generated content, on social networking sites like Facebook or on the global user community of GyPSii.

Talking about the new deal with Samsung, Dan Harple, Chief Executive Officer at GyPSii, stated that "This is an industry-defining event for mobile social networking and geo-location based services. Our distribution and partnership agreement with Samsung is further validation of our business model, our technology and our go-to-market distribution model. We continue to build momentum, and are rapidly giving millions of users access to GyPSii, worldwide, across an increasing array of mobile and Internet-connected devices. This distribution and partnership agreement brings GyPSii to millions of new users, enabling us to penetrate new markets, expand our global footprint and leverage the strength of the Samsung brand to drive marketing, distribution and new revenue streams."

WS Lee, Vice President of R&D at Samsung Electronics Mobile Business, added, "Social networking and location-based services on the mobile phone are now mainstream, so we looked to emerging innovators in the industry to support and deliver these value-added services."

Currently compatible with Windows Mobile, Symbian, BlackBerry and Apple's iPhone, GyPSii will be available on Samsung phones in lots of languages. The PlaceRank technology included in GyPSii will provide regional points of interest (POI) and local-relevant user generated content.

No word yet on the other new Samsung handsets to come with GyPSii, but I guess the South Korean company will announce every one of them at the right time.
