On Friday, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is expected to make its Galaxy S4 smartphone official in India, after unveiling it to the world last month.

The company has already started to send out invitations to a press event that will take place on that day, and could be set to make the phone available for purchase soon after.

According to BGR India, Samsung usually releases devices on shelves one or few days after an official launch, and it might make a similar move with Galaxy S4.

Samsung Galaxy S4 was previously rumored to arrive on shelves in India on April 25, featuring a MRP of Rs 42,000, but it seems that users will actually have to wait a few days more to be able to purchase it.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Galaxy S4 will arrive on the market with a large, 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, as well as with a 1.9GHz quad-core processor packed inside (though it might include an octa-core Exynos 5 CPU in India).

Furthermore, the smartphone was unveiled to the world with 2GB of RAM inside, 16GB / 32GB / 64GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

Samsung also packed the mobile phone with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as with a 2MP front camera for making video calls.

The specs list of this flagship smartphone also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, NFC, GPS receiver, the usual set of sensors, and Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, with Samsung’s own TouchWiz Nature UX loaded on top.

All the necessary details on Galaxy S4’s landing in India are set to become available in a few days, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
