Samsung is hosting an event on June 4, called “Ditch Day,” in Times Square in New York. And If you’re wondering why the tech giant chose to name it this way, keep reading further.

Apparently, the Korean device maker is offering those willing to trade in a digital SLR (any DSLR, even older models) a brand new and shiny NX30 mirrorless camera, reports Engadget. If this offer sounds good to you, you better be one of the first people to show up willing to make the trade, because Samsung will be awarding NX30 cameras while supplies last.

But hey, Samsung doesn't want you to get all upset if you don’t manage to put your hands on a new NX30 and will still offer you a $50 / €37 coupon to be used for a Samsung camera purchase, if you have a good-enough DSLR camera available for trade.

Samsung will be tempting you with the NX Mini or Galaxy Camera 2, both to be available on display at the NYC event.

In recent news, I told you Samsung ‘s new mirrorless camera the NX1, a device which will bring 4K video recording to the tablet, was rumored to arrive this September. Until then, you probably wouldn't mind testing out the NX30.
