South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is reportedly gearing up to expand the availability of its first handset powered by the bada operating system, namely the Samsung Wave. The new device has been already released on the market in Europe, and it seems that it should soon be put on sale in Canada too, on the airwaves of Bell.

According to a recent article on BGR, Bell Canada should make the new Samsung S8500 Wave available for its customers as soon as July 8. Although no official announcement on the matter was made, it seems that things have been already nailed down, and that the move is as good as confirmed. Of course, there are still a series of details that remain to be unveiled, but the bottom line is that Wave should arrive in Canada in a matter of weeks.

The first Samsung phone to run under the company's bada operating system comes with a pretty impressive specifications list. It includes a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA resolution, complemented by a 1GHz processor from Samsung. Moreover, the new mobile phone packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, while the bada OS has the company's TouchWiz 3.0 user interface thrown over it.

It seems that the new device should sport a price tag of $299.95 when available, but chances are that the actual cost of the Samsung S8500 Wave would be different at Bell, since the carrier would certainly have it available on a contract agreement with a subsidized price. The available info on the phone's launch suggests that Bell's employees will learn specific details on its availability and pricing after June 28. Samsung Wave has all the capabilities to prove itself a great option for mobile phone users, and Canadians might find it a suitable choice. Keep an eye on this space for additional info on this.
