South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung unveiled officially during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February its first handset powered by the Bada operating system, and now the first release dates and price tag details on the device emerged around the Internet. The device is already listed on two different websites with different price tags, namely on Play.com and Amazon.de.

For starters, we should mention that the handset is listed on Play.com as set for release on May 17, and that the retailer has the Samsung Wave listed with a price tag of £339.99 (€378.55). The price tag seems to be a pretty good one for the Wave, although it might arrive on the market in Germany a little pricier. Amazon.de has the phone listed with a €429 price tag next to it, but shows no release date for it. However, it seems that Wave might become available there in early May, though we'll still have to wait for confirmation.

It's a common fact that the new Samsung Wave S8500 is not only the first handset to come to the market powered by Samsung's new bada operating system, but also the first one to boast the new Super AMOLED technology, which powers its 3.3-inch touchscreen display. However, the list of high-end specifications for Wave does not end here, and the device is clearly set to deliver an enhanced experience to any user out there.

Among the other specs of the new mobile phone we can count a 1GHz processor, for a fast performance level, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper that comes with flash and high definition video recording capabilities. Moreover, the handset includes support for Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as 3.5mm audio jack, Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support, 8GB of internal memory and microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and more. Stay tuned for more info on Wave's release date and pricing.
