Samsung has officially introduced one of its flagship bada smartphones, the Wave 723, in Germany. Previously slated for a September release, the device was delayed by the manufacturer until November due to unknown reasons.

Rumors tagged the device with a EUR 250 price, but the Wave 723 is now available in Germany for a whopping price of EUR 349.

Samsung Wave 723 is powered by Samsung's proprietary bada operating system and comes with a large 3.2-inch WQGA capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors and 240 x 400 pixels resolution.

The phone sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, smile detection, geo-tagging and video recording capabilities (QVGA@15fps).

It comes with an aluminum casing and a flip cover that protects it against scratches and dust. The Wave 723 is pretty sleek and lightweight, as it measures 109.5 x 53.9 x 11.8 mm and weighs around114g (with flip and battery).

Other key features of the smartphone include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, TouchWiz UI 3.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) technology, GPS with A-GPS support, 90 MB internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB).

The Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 700 hours standby (up to 600 hours for 3G) or up to 14 hours 20 minutes (up to 6 hours 45 minutes for 3G).

Besides the fact that its price is a little steep, Wave 723 users are not provided with too many applications for their bada phone.

The Samsung Apps store application is included with the phone, but there aren't many apps available compared to what Apple’s App Store or the Android Market have to offer.

Samsung is also expected to launch another bada OS device in Germany, namely Samsung Wave II S8530, which comes with more advanced features than the Wave 723.
