No word yet about its availability in other countries

Samsung continues to roll-out one mobile phone after another and one of the latest handsets to come from the South Korean company is the SPH-W4950, or simply W4950.

Coming in a slider form factor, Samsung W4950 looks nice and it also seems to be quite slim. Its features include CDMA2000 connectivity with EV-DO Rev.A., Multimedia player, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, secondary video-call camera, 40MB of built-in memory, microSD card support and a battery capable of offering up to 4 and a half hours of talk-time and up to 165 hours of stand-by time. Other specs, like the display size and resolution or Web capabilities, are not known, but they're most probably decent ones, making the W4950 a mid to low-end device that can attract users who don't want too many high-end features to be packed in their handsets.

The new phone is featured on Samsung's official website, at this address. Although we don't have all the details about the W4950, we know that it will soon be released via LG Telecom, the third largest mobile carrier in South Korea, after SK Telekom and KTF. LG Telecom is, of course, owned by LG Corporation, one of Samsung's rivals both in Korea and worldwide, so it might seem a bit weird for Samsung to release a phone via this carrier. But in fact it's not weird at all, since LG Telecom has many other Samsung handsets in its portfolio.

For the moment we have no details about the retail price of Samsung SPH-W4950. Moreover, we can't say if the slider is ever going to be released outside South Korea. But if it is, users from the US, for example, might see this little handset offered by carriers who have CDMA networks (like Verzion and Sprint).
