T-Mobile's Samsung Vibrant is now available for purchase from Amazon almost for free. While the carrier had it at only half the original $199 price tag on yesterday, the online retailer listed the smartphone as priced at only $0.01 upon the signing of a contract agreement with the carrier, with free shipping attached to it.

Launched in the United States as T-Mobile's version of Samsung Galaxy S, the Vibrant offers enhanced smartphone features to end users, along with access to a wide range of applications via the Android Market.

Already highly-popular on the market in South Korea, the Galaxy S is expected to appeal a lot to users in other markets too, and its availability at such a small price tag should help the cause.

The Samsung Vibrant can be purchased from Amazon from here, for only $0.01 with a two-year service agreement with T-Mobile.

The handset packs a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 16 GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel camera with HD video capture capabilities, a 1GHz application processor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, and more.

Users can add more storage space into the equation via microSD expansion slot (2 GB microSD memory card in the package), while benefiting from up to 4 hours of talk time or up to 4 days of standby time.

The handset measures 4.7 x 2.2 x 0.6 inches and weighs in at 5.6 ounces. It runs under Google's Android 2.1 operating system.

On the downside, the Vibrant comes with a series of issues related to its GPS receiver, problems that were signaled to come with all Galaxy S models.

According to a recent article on Engadget, the wireless carrier is set to deliver a fix for Vibrant's GPS issue sometime in September.

This is what T-Mobile is telling its sales reps, but it seems that the company is asking them to say that the solution would land in the coming few weeks, so as to avoid problems in case it misses the deadline.
