The new release improves 50-150mm-S lens compatibility

Just now, Samsung has rolled out new firmware packages for its NX300 and NX300 smart cameras, namely version 1.44 and 1.14, respectively, which improve 50-150mm-S lens compatibility and resolve the SEF42A flash-zoom problems.

Therefore, if you intend to make use of these new changes, then you must take into account an upgrade to the latest firmware version.

To do so, first check the current software build number that powers your camera and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching the present release. Also, don’t forget to use a fully charged battery for this update process.

Now, simply save and unzip the appropriate downloadable archive for your device model (you might want to use a download manager as the file size is over 230 MB), and copy the .bin file from the newly created folder onto a formatted memory card.

Afterwards, insert the card into the camera, power on the device, go to Menu > Setting > Device Information > Firmware Update > Body Firmware Update, and agree with the next message that will initiate the upgrade.

Bear in mind that the installation is performed in two stages, therefore make sure you don’t turn off/reboot the camera or remove the card or the battery, as this will cause an update failure. Just allow the camera to apply the firmware; the device will automatically restart upon completion.

That being said, download Samsung NX300 Camera Firmware 1.44 or download Samsung NX300M Camera Firmware 1.14 depending on which camera you own, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your camera’s software to the latest version.
