14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has released new firmware packages targeted at some of its digital cameras, namely version 1.43, 1.13, and 1.17 compatible with the NX300, NX300M, and NX2000 imaging devices, respectively, which can be applied regardless of the operating system installed on your computer.
When it comes to changes, these new updates only fix the intermittent line noise issue by improving the 16-50mm-PWZ 16mm position movie recording, and revise the Open Source Licenses.
In order to benefit from these changes, simply save and unzip the downloadable archive developed for your device model, format a memory card using the camera’s setup menu, and copy the newly extracted .bin file onto the root folder of the card.
After the firmware file has successfully transferred, insert the compatible card into the camera while it’s turned off, power on the unit, confirm that the battery is fully charged (otherwise recharge it), and go to Menu → Settings → Device Information → Firmware Update, and select “Body Firmware.”
At this point, the camera should have recognized the update and prompt a “Body Upgrade?” message. Select “Yes” to confirm the installation process and wait patiently for the new firmware to be applied.
Bear in mind that during the installation the camera will reboot 3 times – this is normal, so make sure you don’t reboot the device, use its buttons, or remove the battery or the SD card, as this will not only interrupt the update, but it can also cause serious device malfunctions.
