Samsung has just announced the availability of an updated version of its ATIV Book 9 Plus. The PC vendor has added Intel’s 4th-Gen Core i7 processor and the recently released Windows 8.1.

The now-previous generation, which includes a Core i5 CPU, will continue to be sold by Samsung as well. The i7 variant is especially targeted at users looking to squeeze more productivity out of working with the laptop. Gamers, however, will probably be disappointed as the device doesn't feature discrete GPU, but comes with Intel integrated 4000HD graphics processor.

The ATIV Book 9 Plus’ biggest attraction point is probably the 13.3-inch QHD+ touch display with an impressive resolution of 3200 x 1800. With its 3.06 lbs / 1.3 kg, it’s also pretty light for a laptop. Samsung further offers 8GB of storage with this model.

For those interested, you can go ahead and place your pre-orders on the official Samsung official website. For those looking to spot it in the wild, the 9 Plus will be up on retail shelves starting early November. The i7 version can be purchased for $1.799 / €1.316 a pop while the i5 one is available for $1.399 / €1.023.
