This is one of those products that have been demonstrated during the 2012 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show, but have only now been released.

Samsung has begun to ship the Series 9 all-in-one system in South Korea, meaning that it should not take too long for the rest of the world to get it as well.

One should not place too high hopes on the affordability, though.

According to at least one report, the machine is going to sell for 2,690,000 won, which is about the same as $2,368 or 1,838 Euro.

No matter how one looks at it, that is a very high price, even for an all-in-one computer.

Fortunately, this is not just any AiO, but one that features high-end hardware and a 3D panel to boot.

Speaking of the screen, it is an LCD (liquid crystal display) with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD).

The 3D rendering is more or less standard, so customers will have to keep their glasses handy.

Maybe people will even have a reason to get one of those new Bluetooth-enabled wireless active shutter glasses that the Bluetooth SIG issued a specification for, not long ago.

Granted, it will take some time for those glasses to become commercially available, but that is neither here nor there.

Back to the Series 9 all-in-one, Samsung chose a Core i7 CPU (central processing unit) as the main driving force. Up to 8 GB of RAM (random access memory) assist the processor, while an AMD Radeon mobile GPU handles the graphics.

Indeed, though this is essentially a desktop PC, it boasts a video solution normally used in notebooks.

Other specifications include a TV tuner and all the ports and plugs one can expect (LAN, USB 3.0, audio, etc.), Blu-ray and Live TV support.

Finally, the product bundle includes the obligatory pair of 3D glasses. Customers will have to shop around for extra pairs if they want to socialize while watching films.
