South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has announced the addition of two more handsets to its Omnia lineup, the Omnia II (I8000) and Omnia LITE (B7300). While the former has been spotted into the wild before, the latter is a new device that only includes some of the “lite” features of a smartphone, yet still capable of offering a leveraged user experience.

The new Samsung Omnia II (I8000), which was already reported to come to the market as the successor of the popular Samsung Omnia i900, runs under Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, yet it will support the upgrade to the upcoming WinMo 6.5 iteration. At the same time, the phone also includes a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, which can offer an impressive resolution.

Other features of the handset include the TouchWiz 2.0 UI, Advanced R Touch (Resistive Touch) that “enables faster, more accurate touch response,” as Samsung states, Wi-Fi, HSUPA 5.76Mbps, HSDPA 7.2Mbps connectivity as well as a series of multimedia capabilities, such as 480p video recording and playback, Internet browsing and interactive 3D games. At the same time, the device also comes with an impressive 48GB of storage space.

The second Omnia handset unveiled today, the Omnia LITE (B7300), comes with “an easy smartphone interface with full support of multimedia, internet, and business features.” The mobile phone features a full touchscreen display, as well as the TouchWiz 2.0, a 3-megapixel camera, support for push email, Microsoft Office Suite, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and A-GPS. In addition, the device also includes the speedy Opera browser, so the navigation experience of all users should be leveraged.

As anyone can easily see, the phone maker packed more features inside the Omnia II, though the new Omnia LITE still includes some attractive capabilities as well. Unfortunately, it seems that the company hasn't unveiled any details on the availability and pricing of the new handsets, yet it looks like the Omnia II should come to the market on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless later this year.
