Samsung Electronics has just announced that it is now shipping its newest lineup of FullHD Professional LCD Displays for commercial applications. Available in 40-inch and 46-inch form factors and FullHD resolutions, the new FP-2 Series will provide customers with full commercial connectivity and commercial-grade panel, rated for uses of 16 hours, 7 days a week. According to Samsung, these new displays are designed to provide customers with features that place them just below the company's DX series.

“Samsung is recognized for displays that feature best-in-class picture and reliability. We are proud to announce our latest commercial offering which is designed to help customers who have not been able to utilize digital signage in the past because of the cost-of-entry,” said Mr. J.H. Kim, president, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America Inc. “However, we recognized that a commercial installation deserves a commercial-grade display built to withstand environmental factors that consumer-grade TVs are not designed to handle.”

The new Samsung 400FP-2, 400FPn-2, 460FP-2 and 460FPn-2 have been designed to provide customers with resolutions of 1920 by 1080 pixels, featuring 4000:1 static contrast ratio and dynamic contrast ration of 40,000:1. The new series also features an 8ms response rate and integrated stereo speakers, as well as an anti-image retention technology. As far connectivity goes, the new FP-2 Series can provide a full support, including VGA, DVI, CVBS, HDMI, BNC and component connections. The 400FPn and 460FPn also feature embedded PCs, which can be managed through Samsung MagicInfo Pro or new MagicInfo i software.

“The FP-2 Series is ideal for those looking for a balance of cost, quality, performance and reliability,” said Kevin Schroll, senior product marketing manager, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America Inc. “We recognized a need for more affordable commercial-grade displays that will allow most businesses to install digital signage without sacrificing reliability and image quality.”

As for pricing, Samsung has announced that its new commercial displays are available for starting prices of US$1,175 for the 400FP-2 and US$1,646 for the 460FP-2.
