The newly released updates should enhance compatibility with ultra-slim and mobile PCs

Samsung has just made available two new firmware packages developed for some of its solid state drives, namely version DXT09B0Q and DXM06B0Q compatible with the producer’s 840 and 840 PRO SSD models, respectively.

In order to be clear, these newly released updates can be installed on Samsung’s MZ-7TD120BW, -7TD250BW, and -7TD500BW SSDs included in the 840 series, as well as on the MZ-7PD128BW, -7PD256BW, and -7PD512BW units that shape the 840 PRO lineup.

If the present firmware release is applied on the above-mentioned devices, the solid state drives will benefit from enhanced compatibility with both ultra-slim and mobile PCs.

When it comes to installing these updates, for each SSD model the producer has made available two download records (one .ZIP archive and one .ISO file) that will help apply the firmware through two different methods.

Specifically speaking, the .ISO file format can help you upgrade to the new firmware regardless of the operating system installed on your computer, by burning the downloadable update onto a CD or DVD and booting from the optical drive under a DOS environment.

On the other hand, the .ZIP archive does quite the same thing, only there is no need for a CD or DVD – in order to upgrade your SSD using this method, you must download Samsung Magician Software 4.3 and use that tool for a successful installation.

That being said, if you consider improving your SSD compatibility, then download Samsung 840 SSD Firmware DXT09B0Q or download Samsung 840 Pro SSD Firmware DXM06B0Q depending on your device series, apply it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
