Today, Samsung has officially announced the upcoming availability of a new handset in its Android-based Galaxy lineup, namely the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance.

The new device will hit shelves only next year, it seems, and is expected to appeal to users looking for affordable smartphones.

The new Galaxy Core Advance was unveiled with a 4.7-inch WVGA TFT touchscreen display and with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor inside, as well as with 1GB of RAM.

Furthermore, it sports 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64 GB of additional storage space, and a 2000mAh battery.

The new handset runs under the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform right from the start, with various specific Samsung features loaded on top, including S Voice, S Translator, Sound & Shot, Group Play and Easy Mode.

Samsung’s new device has a 5-megapixel camera on the back, employs a VGA sensor on the front. It was also unveiled with 3G support, WiFi Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, as well as with GPS receiver with GLONASS.

“Galaxy Core Advance provides users with a premium design, sporting a large 4.7” display and a Soft Feel coated back cover that increases durability providing a warm, soft touch to the user and making it easier and more comfortable to grip,” Samsung notes.

“The device also incorporates physical keys for frequently used features into its intuitive design. Dedicated keys for voice recorder, camera, volume, menu, home and power functions brings users who are less comfortable with a touch-screen experience seamless access to Galaxy Core Advance’s capabilities.”

The smartphone also comes with a series of features aimed at making it fit for disabled and visually impaired users, such as Optical Scan, Light Sensing technology, and Instant Voice Recorder.

Samsung is set to bring the Galaxy Core Advance to shelves in Deep Blue and Pearl White color flavors in early 2014, but hasn’t provided info on the phone’s pricing as of now.
