Shortly after rumors on the upcoming Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for several Galaxy smartphones in the United States started making the rounds, Samsung issued an official statement confirming the upgrade would arrive in the coming weeks.

According to an official press release, Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note II, and Galaxy S III will receive a Premium Suite software update “in the coming weeks,” which is meant to add compatibility with Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

Samsung also states that Premium Suite timing and features vary by carrier and device, so we should expect mode details in the coming days.

It has already mentioned in a previous statement that, along with Galaxy Gear compatibility, Samsung's Premium Suite will also bring Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and new features to these Galaxy smartphones.

US customers should know the update will be available for Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note II, and Galaxy S III and will bring an updated Easy Mode, Multi Window, advanced camera options, and more features with new functionality.

The major update will also add Samsung KNOX compatibility for enhanced Android security. Samsung KNOX will not be provided with the upcoming upgrade, but it will make the devices ready for the next update.

Furthermore, Samsung has announced the Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Mega will also receive an update in the coming months to be compatible with Galaxy Gear, but the South Korean handset maker doesn’t mention whether the upgrade will contain Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as well.

On a side note, the company’s official statement doesn't say anything about the Galaxy S4 Active, which is also rumored to receive an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

However, according to the latest hearsay, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will only get the upgrade at AT&T on December 24. We will keep an eye out for any additional info, so stay tuned.
