Although Samsung has already started the global rollout of Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S III, the update is only available in a few countries.

Officially launched in South Korea about a week ago, the Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III has been recently spotted in Europe in Poland and Sweden. However, the vast majority of Samsung Galaxy S III owners have yet to receive the hotly-anticipated update.

Today, Samsung UK inadvertently confirmed the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update would be available on the Galaxy S III “this month.”

So far, we’ve been unable to determine whether the upgrade will be offered to UK international Galaxy S III or it will be rolled out on carrier-bounded devices as well.

We’re still waiting for the main UK-based carriers to offer further information on this one, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is a considerable improvement from Ice Cream Sandwich. Officially introduced on the market with Android 4.0, the Galaxy S III is among the best-selling smartphones ever launched by Samsung.

With Jelly Bean, Samsung Galaxy S III owners will have access to more new features and services. In addition, the handset will be much faster and smoother thanks to the new improvements added throughout the system.

Google Now is another application freshly introduced with Jelly Bean. It offers updated news on just about anything you can think of: weather, traffic, flights, currency, sports and more.

Other enhancements to Google Search, Keyboard, Messaging and Talk, Notifications, Networking, Widgets, People, Phone and Setting will be added as well.

According to Google, “Jelly Bean has more reactive and uniform touch responses, and makes your device even more responsive by boosting your device's CPU instantly when you touch the screen, and turns it down when you don't need it to improve battery life.”
