Samsung U900 Soul, one of the latest high-end handsets unveiled by the South Korean producer, was released in Romania today, via Hat Group, the official distributor of Samsung mobile phones in the country.

Initially announced in February, Samsung U900 is the first phone from the Soul family, which also includes the G400 model. Both devices have about the same features, but they come in different form factors: the U900 is a slider, while the G400 is a dual touchscreen clamshell.

The main attraction of Samsung U900 is represented by its Magical Touch navigation pad that can be "transformed", according to the user's needs, in order to offer quick and easy access to all of the phone's functions. Moreover, the U900 offers a 5 Megapixel camera with image stabilizer, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), LED flash and video recording in QVGA mode - enough for taking pictures at a high quality.

Besides the above mentioned features, the new Samsung packs many other goodies, including a 2.2 inch screen with 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, tri-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, 3G / HSDPA for high data transfer speeds (up to 7.2 Mbps), high-end music capabilities (relying on Bang & Olufsen's ICEpower technology), FM Radio with RDS, Video player, Bluetooth 2.0, email, Web browser, Instant Messaging, USB 2.0 and microSD card support.

Weighing 112 grams and measuring 105 x 49.5 x 12.9 millimeters (when closed), the U900 slider is dressed in a metallic case designed to look simple but at the same time elegant.

Already released in other European countries, as of today Samsung U900 Soul is available in Romania too, for a retail price of 1,800 RON (around 490 Euros or $765), in various retail shops across the country.
