Girly-colored Samsung handsets are definitely not something new, hence mobile users should not be surprised to find out that the latest Soul candybar, namely Samsung U800 (also known as Samsung Soulb), will soon be released in a purple version.

The purple U800 (which might be mistaken for a pink one) will be launched in the UK, for a good cause - 10 GBP from each unit sold are donated by Samsung to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer organization, helping it raise awareness about the disease it's fighting against.

Of course, besides the fact that its case has the official color of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer organization, the new Samsung U800 will bring the same features as the original version, including tri-band GSM connectivity and HSDPA 2100, a 3.15 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording, a 2 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, 1GB of expandable memory, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, Media player, FM radio with RDS, a 3.5mm headset jack, Web and email capabilities, document viewer, handsfree, USB 2.0 and so on - all in a stylish case that measures only 111 x 46 x 9.9 millimeters and weighs 92 grams.

The purple and cancer-fighting U800 will be available exclusively from Phones4U (in the UK, that is), starting the beginning of August. No price details were given yet, and neither do we know whether Samsung will release the new version of its Soul candybar in other markets except the UK.

In case purple is not among your favorite colors or if you're insensitive to cancer-related problems but still want to buy a Samsung U800, you can get the silver version, which is available from Phones4U even for free, with an O2 contract agreement and a data plan of at least 30 GBP (38 Euros or $60) per month.
