Not so much time has passed since Verizon announced the launch of their highly anticipated V CAST Mobile TV service that would enable mobile users in the US to watch live video streaming from several channels including NBC, CBS, MTV and others.

Samsung's SCH-U620 was the first mobile phone to support Verizon Wireless' newly released V CAST Mobile TV service. Now, both the service and the handset are available on Verizon.

Sporting a typically Samsung form factor and design, the u620 enables its user to watch videos in landscape mode. It will work on CDMA 850/1900 Mhz networks and includes EV-DO data transfer technology.

The phones feature list is rather long and includes a 2 inch color screen with a QVGA resolution, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capabilities, Mobile Web 2.0 support, speech recognition with dictation, SMS, MMS and video messaging, Bluetooth with profiles for stereo headset, mono headset, hands-fre, serial port, dial-up, networking and object push, a document viewer for DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF, TXT and image files and a MicroSD slot for memory expansion.

It also works with nearly all of Verizon's services like V CAST Music, for downloading songs over the air and transferring onto a memory card, V CAST Video and 3D Games offering the best videos and latest games from top providers. The handset measures 3.76" x 1.86" x .85", weighs 3.7 ounces and is currently available in select Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, with a price tag of $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a two-year agreement.
