Verizon Wireless plans to add a new handset to its portfolio of messaging phones, the Samsung U380. The carrier has yet to confirm the upcoming handset, but the information is mostly confirmed by the Verizon logo found on the phone’s charger.

Spotted by the folks over at PhoneScoop, the Samsung U380 features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a medium size touchscreen display, hopefully capacitive.

Other highlights of the Samsung U380, which have been confirmed by the filed documents include 3G EVDO and Bluetooth support, 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB ports, as well as rear camera.

No clues yet on its price tag or when the Samsung U380 will be announced by Verizon Wireless, but this one should go for under $50 (37 EUR) with a new two year agreement.
