Samsung will soon spawn the market with countless variations of its smartwatches

Earlier this month, I told you Samsung trademarked two new smartwatches, the Gear Solo and the Gear Now.

The first one is no stranger to the rumor mill. The Gear Solo apparently represents a variation of the current Gear 2 models, which will come bundled with 3G capabilities, thus enabling users to place phone calls.

Now the guys over at Gforgames have managed to dig out another piece of information. Apparently, the Korean tech giant has also trademarked a device called “Samsung Gear Clock.” So it appears Sammy is planning to launch a whole host of Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo spin-offs.

Judging by the name, Samsung might be trying its hand at building a hybrid clock of sorts. Even if the “Samsung Gear Clock” name got trademarked, it doesn't absolutely mean the Korean tech giant will be launching the device in the wild anytime soon.

Anyway, in related news, speaking in an interview this week, a Samsung official confirmed what most of us were already expecting since Google launched the Android Wear OS.

Yes, the Korean tech giant is building a smartwatch running the platform too and we will get to see that device arrive on the market this year. It sure seems the smartwatch market will get oversaturated fast.
