Samsung announced its latest flagships, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, with bells and whistles at MWC 2015 just a day ago.

The Korean tech giant is mighty proud of the end result, so it has written a full blog post detailing the art of craftsmanship in the Galaxy S6.

For ages, Samsung fans have been complaining that the company’s flagships didn't really feel premium, nor did they look particularly pleasing to the eye.

Well, with the new duo, Samsung is finally answering the prayers of those who have been hoping and wishing for more beautiful smartphones.

Samsung has used only the best for its new Galaxy S6

We are told that the duo is manufactured from high-strength 6013 aluminum, as opposed to most smartphones like the iPhone 6 which make use of the less noble 6063.

While 7075 is the top notch standard, 6013 is the material used when you’re trying to build something light yet durable, including cars, yachts and mountain bikes. Wink-wink, nudge-nudge!

Actually, Samsung tells us that 6013 aluminum is 1.5 times stronger and 1.2 times more scratch-resistant than 6063 aluminum.

The curved glass display on the Galaxy S6 Edge was made possible by the company’s own 3D Thermoforming technology, which places glass between two molds, while heating it to a pliable temperature.

The cover glass then gets pressed into the right symmetrical shape which outlines the three sides of the Galaxy S6 Edge.

The luxurious finish of the back casing is enhanced by the nano-thin multi-coating process, which amplifies the colors on both the front and the back.

Moreover, Samsung says it has solved the antenna performance issues (brought about by the metal body) via binding the antenna to the metal frame itself with ultrasonic welding.

Overall, we can consider the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge a step forward for Samsung in terms of design. Actually, we’re seeing the company take a step in a completely new direction, something that a lot of fans of the brand have been waiting for.

But the new design language doesn't come without slight caveats. Like the lack of a microSD card slot or the non-removable battery.
