South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics plans the release of new devices at IFA this year, and some of them will land on the mobile market, helping the company gain more share in the area.

While no specific info on what the company intends to release was unveiled, a video teaser that Samsung published on the web suggests that “something big” is coming (available below).

Some of the previous rumors on the matter suggested that Samsung might plan the unveiling of their first smartphone to pack a screen larger that 5-inches, and the teaser seem to point in this direction as well.

Of course, there is also the possibility that Samsung would plan the launch of a new tablet PC, but that won't stop enthusiasts from dreaming of the said high-end smartphone.

With a 5.3-inch screen and a powerful 1.5GHz dual core application processor, the handset would indeed be capable of fulfilling the dreams of any enthusiast.

With this mobile phone, provided that rumors would actually pan out, and some other high-end smartphones more, as those spotted in the company's recently leaked roadmap, Samsung would be able to secure a larger share of the mobile market, that's for sure.

It's no mystery that Samsung was long aiming at taking the crown on the mobile market from Nokia, and it seems that they might be finally nearing their goal.

With the Finnish giant massively losing market share and with new, highly appealing Samsung devices being launched on shelves, it should be only a matter of time before the South Korean vendor manages to secure the first position on the handset area.

In India, for example, Samsung is said to plan capturing no less than 40 percent of the smartphone market by the end of the ongoing year, up from the 23 percent of the market they account for at the moment.

The company's head of Mobile and IT for India, Ranjit Yadav, said there will be new devices launched on shelves this year, and that they will run under different mobile platforms.

As the aforementioned roadmap showed, Samsung has Android, bada and Windows Phone handsets up its sleeve, and should bring them to the market before the end of the ongoing year, it seems, in an attempt to boost sales and market share.
