Six “It Doesn’t Take a Genius” videos have just been released by the handset maker

Even though it has become a custom for big companies in the smartphone business to troll each other during major events, Samsung seems to have brought this to an upper level.

Everyone had to say something about Apple’s more or less failed iPhone 6 event, but Samsung wanted to have the last laugh. We reported yesterday on some of Samsung’s ironic tweets about the iPhone 6 and we thought it would be over soon.

Alas, it isn’t over until the fat lady sings! Samsung is back in full force with a series of funny video ads that poke fun at Apple’s livestream, iPhone 6 and Watch.

Those who did not have the curiosity to watch Apple’s keynote on September 9 should know that the livestreaming of the event was a complete mess.

As expected, it only worked on Apple devices, when it did work. We’ve been able to start watching the stream after hitting the refresh key a few times, and when it eventually started, we could hear the Chinese translation. After going offline a few times during a 5-minute period, the stream dropped completely and it came back much later.

Anyway, it looks like Samsung had a team especially prepared to make fun of Apple’s event, but I wouldn’t put all the merits on the South Korean company for these amusing videos.

Apple offers the ammunition, Samsung loads it and shoots

It’s in fact Apple that has given the competition the ammunition for these videos. This would have probably been impossible to make a few years ago, but with rivalries becoming fiercer in the smartphone business, it looks like almost everything is permitted.

There are no less than 6 videos called “It Doesn’t Take a Genius,” each making fun of Apple’s livestream, iPhone 6 and Watch.

The most amusing seems to be the one related to iPhone 6’s announcement, where the two actors in the ad are happy that the smartphone finally has a bigger screen. I won’t spoil the fun for you, so I won’t tell you how it turns out in the end, but you’ll definitely laugh hard.

Samsung is not the only company that took one or more jabs at Apple. Sony, HTC and BlackBerry had their moments as well. Microsoft has even released a few commercials that put Siri against Cortana, which basically ridicule Apple’s personal assistant.

We’re pretty sure Apple won’t have any answers to these funny ads that are being aired on TV or on the Internet, but the competition now seems to advertise their products (Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in this case) by making fun of Apple.
