Samsung won’t be offering notebooks on the old continent

Samsung isn’t called a tech giant for nothing. The company sells everything from smartphones, tablets to refrigerators and smart washing machines.

But it appears not all Business is going well for Samsung. The device maker has already said it was looking to concentrate on its mobile business and to be able to better do that, the Korean behemoth is halting sales of notebook PCs throughout Europe.

No Samsung Windows-based notebooks and Chromebooks for Europeans

This means customers residing in Europe looking to purchase Windows laptops or Chromebooks won’t be able to do so anymore from now on.

A while back we reported some of Samsung’s Windows-based notebooks seemed to have disappeared from online store locations. Sadly, now it seems the tech giant will be pulling the plug on its Chromebook business as well on the continent.

PC Advisor reports Samsung has made the announcement official, so if you are in Europe, you can kiss laptops such as the ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition or Chromebook 2 goodbye.

Samsung claims it’s a company that adapts itself to the market needs and demands, and this is exactly what’s driving the drastic decision, as Europeans don’t really seem to be into Samsung laptops.

On the other hand, Sammy will continue to sell notebooks in other regions across the world, like in the US where you can still pick up a few models. In all possibility, the company might revisit its decision at some point and start offering laptops on the old continent again.

Over the years, Samsung has introduced a bunch of worthy laptops in the Windows and Chrome department, but regardless the models failed to catch on in Europe.

Chromebooks are pretty popular right now, everywhere

Samsung’s decision of exiting the Chromebook market might be a little rash. Market research firm Gartner predicted a huge growth in Chromebook sales in the upcoming years and currently Samsung sits at the top of the food-chain while Chrome OS laptops are concerned. Is Samsung a little ahead of itself?

Anyhow, you might recall that before IFA 2014, rumors that Samsung might be bringing out a new laptop in the wild started making rounds around the web.

We dubbed the machine the ATIV Book S, due to its slim design and low weight and believed Samsung will be placing it in the Ultrabook category.

The lappy even showed up into a couple of images, but as we know now, the device failed to make an appearance in Berlin and now we understand why. It would have been futile for Samsung to launch a new laptop in Europe, considering it wasn’t planning to market it on the continent anyway.
