Three models added to the official website

Samsung may have brought out a pair of netbooks not too many hours ago, but there seems to be no stopping the PC and consumer electronics supplier. In fact, with the PC segment, more or less, covered, the company decided it was time for an update on the multimedia front. As such, though it didn't go out of its way to make an official announcement, it added a certain collection of 3D Blu-ray multimedia players to its official website.

Samsung has three devices that it intends to unleash upon the no longer unsuspecting consumer base. They go by the names of BD-C5900, BD-C6800 and BD-C7900 and, though they haven't been fully detailed, look as if they combine both aesthetics and functionality. Their maker also seems intent on addressing as much of the multimedia market as it can, considering that the price range they cover is quite wide ($229-$339).

First off, the BD-C7900 comes as an update to the BD-C6900 and is the most expensive of the trio. Basically, it is similar to its predecessor, only it has two HDMI outputs and can communicate even with receivers that aren't compatible with the HDMI 1.4 specification. The BD-C6800 is somewhat cheaper, though it bears many similarities with the former. Finally, the BD-C5900 has 1GB less internal storage than its siblings, all in return for an even lower price. Unfortunately, since Samsung didn't yet finish setting up the individual product pages, the exact specs of each device are still a mystery.

The BD-C5900, BD-C6800 and BD-C7900 have price tags of $339, $279 and $229, respectively, and should bring 3D to any home out there. Those uninterested in such a thing, however, can still rejoice at the prospect that 2D-only models may get price cuts. All newcomers should start showing up as available through online retailers shortly.
