Just as previously reported, the South Korean electronics giant Samsung showcased a new, 7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display at the FPD-International conference, which is held in Japan from November 10th to the 12th.

Moreover, Samsung Mobile Display showcased the new solution on none other than its highly appealing Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet PC.

The new 7-inch OLED panel is said to boast a WXVGA (1200 x 600 pixels) resolution, higher than what Galaxy Tab offers at the moment, namely a WSVGA (1024 x 600 pixels) resolution.

However, as recent article on Samsung Hub suggests that both the new generation and the older display version boast the same resolution, and that the company does not refer to it as Super-AMOLED.

Even so, it appears that Samsung Mobile Display did announce that the new solution should start shipping sometime in 2011.

There are no details available on the device on which the new panel was showcased, but rumor has it that it would be the next generation Galaxy Tab, which should start shipping in the second half of the next year.

We should also note that Samsung did not come to the aforementioned conference only with the new Galaxy Tab in its pocket, but it also brought a series of smaller screens there, aimed at smartphones.

Among them, the most interesting one seems to be a 4.5-inch Flexible AMOLED display, which sports a great deal of enhancements over previous flexible panels.

Among the other displays the company showcased at the event we can count a new 4.5 inch AMOLED Panel with WSVGA resolution. There is also a 19 inch AMOLED-Tv that Samsung Mobile Display brought to the event.

As stated above, Samsung confirmed plans to have the new 7-inch AMOLED display available on the market sometime next year, but did not unveil specific info on when that would happen.

Moreover, details on when we might see the new 4.5 inch AMOLED and 4.5-inch Flexible AMOLED display available lack as well.
