Samsung’s Galaxy Note II smartphone packs a fairly large touchscreen display at 5.5-inch, thus being capable of providing users with some appealing new features.

Among them, we can count enhanced multitasking functionality, which includes the possibility to use the screen in a split-view, thus having more than one app running in the foreground.

However, although Samsung has touted the functionality for its Galaxy Note II handset ever since making the device official, some units arrived on shelves without it.

Users have started complaining about this state of facts, just as reported only a few days ago, and it seems that Samsung was fast to respond to them.

The company has reportedly started to push out a software update for the Galaxy Note II handsets around the world, so as to enable the missing multi-window feature on them.

To benefit from the enhancement, users will simply have to long press the back key on their devices, which will bring up the menu, enabling them to split the screen between two applications.

Basically, this is the multi-tasking capability that Samsung has been long touting for the phone, which can be seen at work in the video embedded below, available courtesy of Android Central.

The best part of the deal is that the feature is not limited to be working only with Samsung applications on the mobile phone. In fact, it is said to be working just fine with other Android apps available for download for the large device (such as Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, Twitter and more).

Additionally, the XXALIJ1 update for Galaxy Note II is said to bring along a new flavor of the Google Chrome browser for Android.

Those of you who have already purchased the new Galaxy Note II smartphone will be able to upgrade their devices through heading to Settings > About device > Software update and hitting Check now.
