Samsung’s presence on the notebook market has been fading. After all, the company pulled the plug on its European laptop division altogether, including Chromebooks.
Well, the Korean tech giant hasn't abandoned laptops altogether. Actually, Sammy just announced its latest Series 9 Ultrabook (2015 Edition) in South Korea.
The new laptop takes advantage of Windows 8 out of the box and is pretty sleek, coming it at 11.8 mm / 0.46 inches thickness and breaking the scales at 950 g / 2 lbs.
Under the hood, Samsung is taking advantage of Intel’s latest chip architecture, and by that I mean Core M (Broadwell family) which is supposed to bestow a long battery life of 12 hours.
The chip inside is of the Core M 5Y10c variety clocked at 2.0GHz fitted with 7GB of LPDDR3 and 256GB SSD.
The notebook arrives with a 12.2-inch display with WQXGA resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels) and boasts improved viewing angles.
What’s more, the display can be adapted to the environment and boasts outdoor readability with max brightness of 700 nits.
The notebook packs some of Samsung’s neat pack of features, including Sync Slide 3.0 and Samsung Link 2.0 pre-installed.
We can expect to be able to take a sneak peek at the new Series 9 Ultrabook (2015 Edition), come CES 2015 next week in Las Vegas.
Pricing availability hasn't been announced just yet.
