Samsung decided to officially expand its Series 9 line of mobile personal computers, so it not only released a new one, but also added new CPU options to those already available.

The market for computers is home to various sorts of laptops, thanks to the many different size, shape and performance options.

The Series 9 from Samsung are all of the ultrathin variety and, despite their compactness, still pack high performance capabilities.

Granted, this feature combination does involve price points that are beyond what many prospective customers can afford to spend.

Nonetheless, after adding new configurations and updating the rest, Samsung now has three 13.3-inch and two 11-inch members for this particular collection.

The three of them that have diagonals of 13.3 inches run the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and boast Intel Core CPU.

More specifically, the NP900X3A-A05US has 6 GB of RAM backing the Core i7-2617M, the NP900X3A-B02US has the i5-2467M and 4 GB DDR3 and NP900X3A-B01US boasts the same i5CPU only an SSD of 128 GB instead of 256 GB like the other two.

Meanwhile, the 11-inchers use the Core i3-2357M central processing unit, 4 GB (NP900X1B-A01US) or 2 GB (NP900X1B-A02US) of RAM and, in that order, SSDs of 128 GB and 64 GB. They cost $1,249 and $1,049, respectively.

"We've seen a very positive reception to the original Series 9 models introduced at CES earlier this year," said Scott Ledterman, director of mobile PC marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division.

"As we look to expand the line for the remainder of the year, we've maintained the premium duralumin design and form factor while offering consumers a wider range of options and powerful performance."

The 11-inch laptops will only start selling in August but the 13.3-inch ones should already be listed online. The battery life should be of up to 7 hours.
