Samsung has managed to sell over 700,000 Galaxy Note devices in its homeland country South Korea since the official release of the new device.

Galaxy Note was launched in South Korea in November, with LTE connectivity capabilities.

The mobile phone maker has confirmed that this number actually shows the sales to channel and distributors and not the actual sales to end users.

Along with Galaxy S II, a smartphone that sold over 5 million units to date in the country, Galaxy Note helped Samsung gain over 66 percent of the mobile market in South Korea.

The large Galaxy Note (it packs a 5.3-inch touchscreen display) managed to surpass the one million sold units mark worldwide in December. The handset is about to reach the market in the US, which should help it increase sales volumes.
